Not hijacked, not crashed. I know you have read or seen this. CNN just helped it along. I just wish they had spent another $20 for effects for the movie (doubling the CGI budget)

Yep, people in sufficiently nerdy sections of the internet have been making this joke a lot. Presumably, rather than finding the rift to re-enter time, MH370 just got munched.
Fun facts: I saw The Langoliers when very young, forgot about it completely, then read the book. Deja vu at an incredible level, which helped the creepy factor reading a SK book like you wouldn't imagine.

haha I am sure I am not the first. I just saw CNN this am and it all came together :)
The book was sooooo much better than the movie. I read it first and was super bummed about the production value.
